Juvenile

3a. Black striped juveniles never exceed four cm in length before colour changes occur, black longitudinal stripes reaches to mid-portion or edge of the caudal fin rays; background colour cream to yellow.

b. Black striped juveniles easily reach 10 cm in length before colour colour changes occur; black longitudinal stripes always distinctly reaching edge of caudal fin rays; background colour red in smaller specimens, orange to yellow in larger juveniles.
